Bamboo Club: 2 Room Vintage Special

Saturday 29th November 2025

Doors: 19:00

SOUNDS AND PRESSURE LO FI presents a special edition of the BAMBOO CLUB, with two rooms showcasing 60's reggae/soul and killer 50's/60's R&B.

The R&B room line up of Bill Kealy, Mace, Craig Simpson, Charles Whitehouse and Ed Bush is as strong as you’ll see anywhere. No punches pulled and guaranteed to keep any dance-floor full, whatever style of 50s/60s R&B you’re into.

The reggae & soul room is, with Brian Kelson’s blessing and DJing skills, being run under the CLUB SCORCHER banner. After 25 years, the curtains finally come down on the big Scorcher weekends. But Brian the promoter is up for occasional club style nights, as a part of bigger events, and this one of them. Many of the “big” tunes on the 60s reggae scene, were originally played, pushed and became popular at Scorcher; expect more of the same.

There will also be a daytime meet and greet session in the venue with DJs on Saturday afternoon.  Vintage records and clothes sellers welcome by prior arrangement with organisers Phil or Ed.

The big differentiator at any Sounds and Pressure / Bamboo night of course is the sound system. Sounds and Pressure Lo Fi has gigged all over the UK and EU, and has been the engine room at many major festivals and vintage Reggae and RnB events for 25+ years now.  The sound is big, in-your-face, you can feel it, but it doesn’t hurt you. Just like it should be. Both rooms will have big Sounds and Pressure sound systems installed, including one with their authentic valve powered sound.

The venue itself is a beautiful and historic, grade 2 listed gig venue, which famously hosted the Rolling Stones in their R&B heyday. It’s located within 5 mins of the city centre and there is a huge Premier Inn 2 minutes walk away. You are also within 15 minutes walk of the historic Castle, Cathedral and Bailgate area, so if you want to make a weekend of it, Lincoln is an underrated jewel of a city to visit. If enough people are interested in making a weekend of it, we may do a small do somewhere Friday night.  Watch out for updates on social media - “Bamboo Club - 2 room vintage special”
